Meet Max 👋 Max is the PES UWA Vice President and is currently in his first year of the Juris Doctor (Law), having previously completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Business Law). He has a strong interest in Energy and Natural Resource Law and believes that the legal profession has an essential part to play in aiding Australia’s clean energy transition. 🌎🔋 Fun Fact: Max was born in Scotland and lived there for 5 years! During his undergraduate studies in Economics, Max was inspired to join PES in response to seeing growing domestic and global demand for a diverse energy mix. “With the energy transition clearly under way, I believe Australia is set to become a key player in the international renewables market. Looking to the future, it’s clear that radically changing social attitudes and constantly evolving government policy will continue to accelerate the pace of Australia’s energy transition. This movement away from fossil-based systems to renewable sources of energy represents an exciting opportunity for students from Engineering, STEM, Commerce and Law backgrounds to get involved and launch rewarding careers in this sector. Getting involved with PES is a great way to get ahead of the crowd and obtain a competitive advantage. My involvement with PES has enabled me to develop strong relationships with representatives from leading energy, law and consulting firms. If you’re looking to gain new insights, develop beneficial relationships and meet like-minded people, I strongly encourage you to visit us at the UWA Club Carnival or get in contact via social media!”
